Facebook is introducing Small Business Boost, a contest that will give away up to $10M in Facebook advertising to small business. Here’s the official announcement from Facebook:

You heard. You get $50 in free ads just for signing up.

So how to start? Here’s a couple of things you need to participate:

Your business must be based in the U.S.

A Facebook Page for your small business

Your Page will need at least 50 likes.

Complicated? Don’t worry. We have prepared a couple of materials to help you understand what Facebook can do for your business, what Facebook Ads is, and how you can customize your Facebook Page so that you can fully engage with your new and existing customers, and eventually make more profits.

As you can see in the statistics above, people are on Facebook. A lot of them. Imagine they could be your potential customers. You need to go where you can find fish and you need a right bait. There is something special in Facebook that drives many businesses to go to Facebook rather than Google to catch fish.

Let’s take a look at this video clip:

Maybe it’s still vague? Watch this video clip and this will give you a better idea – what Facebook Ads can do and how businesses made amazing results out of it, like 130,000 fans overnight!

Now, you know what Facebook Ads can do for your business and you know that Facebook wants to give you $50 so that you can start advertising on Facebook.

The next step is fulfilling the three prerequisites so that you can get $50 in free ads.

REQUIREMENT 1

Your business must be based in the U.S. If you are outside the U.S., please relocate your business to the U.S. by March 30. Just kidding Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do for you regarding this requirement. Let’s ask Facebook to hold the same contest for international businesses as well.

REQUIREMENT 2

You need to have a Facebook Page for your small business. What is a Facebook Page? Just think of it as a website inside Facebook. When your ad is clicked, customers will be taken to your Facebook Page. Thus, on your Facebook Page, you need to do a best job to describe your products & services to go further with the visitors (such as having them open their wallets).

We have put together a couple of videos to help you set up a Facebook Page in 5 minutes. Click the screenshot below, sign in to your GoGoPin Business account and click 5-minute Quick Start Guide. It will tell you how to create a Facebook Page and customize it. If you don’t have a GoGoPin Business account yet (not GoGoPin Ad), please create one. It’s free!

http://business.gogopin.com/Facebook/Intro.aspx

REQUIREMENT 3

Finally, your Facebook Page needs to have at least 50 likes. Basically, you just tell your friends, families, colleagues, and your customers to “Like” your Facebook Page.

* Method 1

Get the URL (web address) of your Facebook Page and send it to everyone you know via email, text, fax, snail mail, or whatever and tell them to “Like” your Page.

* Method 2

Click Share button on the left and start sharing your Page on your own timeline (i.e. on your Wall), on your friend’s timeline, in a group, on your other Facebook Page, or in a private message.

* Method 3

Click Invite Friends and suggest your Facebook Page to your Facebook friends.

You are ready!

Congratulations! You have completed all three prerequisites! Let’s go to Facebook and claim your $50 in free ads!

<< APPLY NOW >>

If you have any questions regarding any of the steps mentioned above, please feel free to leave a comment or contact us at support@gogopin.com.

QR code is just like a barcode, but you can think of it as code that is specifically designed for use with smartphones

A modern smartphone has a built-in camera that allows you to not only take a photo, but also read a QR code. Also, there is an app (usually called QR code reader) that reads the information encoded in a QR code. This information can be anything – website address, contact information and etc.

When a barcode attached to a product is scanned, you learn the price of that product. When a QR code is scanned, your smartphone can play a video clip, take you to a website, make a phone call, send a text message, show you a map, anything is possible.

If you have a decent phone (e.g. iPhone, Android-based phones, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7), basically you’re carrying a wireless QR code scanner.

Now, what does QR code have anything to do with a flyer? Basically, you can do something like this:

As you can see, it’s just a normal flyer printed on a plain letter-sized paper. Nothing special. And, of course, the video printed on the paper flyer cannot be played (duh), but if you scan the QR code with your smartphone, guess what? You can watch the virtual home tour on your phone!

Now, let’s watch the video clip below to see how easy it is to make your own innovative mobile-friendly flyer using GoGoPin!

When you have a dark background for your ad, website, or your Facebook Page, it was really difficult to edit white text. As a matter of fact, it was impossible to see the text because the Text Editor itself has a white background. White text on a white background…

We now provide a new feature that helps you edit white text very easily. Just click the T icon and it will change the default white background of Text Editor to a dark color so that your white text can stand out. Clicking it again will change the background of Text Editor back to white.

As you know GoGoPin Business has a little different Text Editor as shown below. Instead of the T icon, click the Show White Text button.
