Facebook is introducing Small Business Boost, a contest that will give away up to $10M in Facebook advertising to small business. Here’s the official announcement from Facebook:
You heard. You get $50 in free ads just for signing up.
So how to start? Here’s a couple of things you need to participate:
- Your business must be based in the U.S.
- A Facebook Page for your small business
- Your Page will need at least 50 likes.
Complicated? Don’t worry. We have prepared a couple of materials to help you understand what Facebook can do for your business, what Facebook Ads is, and how you can customize your Facebook Page so that you can fully engage with your new and existing customers, and eventually make more profits.
As you can see in the statistics above, people are on Facebook. A lot of them. Imagine they could be your potential customers. You need to go where you can find fish and you need a right bait. There is something special in Facebook that drives many businesses to go to Facebook rather than Google to catch fish.

Now, you know what Facebook Ads can do for your business and you know that Facebook wants to give you $50 so that you can start advertising on Facebook.
The next step is fulfilling the three prerequisites so that you can get $50 in free ads.
REQUIREMENT 1
Your business must be based in the U.S. If you are outside the U.S., please relocate your business to the U.S. by March 30. Just kidding 
Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do for you regarding this requirement. Let’s ask Facebook to hold the same contest for international businesses as well.
REQUIREMENT 2
You need to have a Facebook Page for your small business. What is a Facebook Page? Just think of it as a website inside Facebook. When your ad is clicked, customers will be taken to your Facebook Page. Thus, on your Facebook Page, you need to do a best job to describe your products & services to go further with the visitors (such as having them open their wallets).

REQUIREMENT 3
Finally, your Facebook Page needs to have at least 50 likes. Basically, you just tell your friends, families, colleagues, and your customers to “Like” your Facebook Page.
* Method 1
Get the URL (web address) of your Facebook Page and send it to everyone you know via email, text, fax, snail mail, or whatever and tell them to “Like” your Page.
* Method 2
Click Share button on the left and start sharing your Page on your own timeline (i.e. on your Wall), on your friend’s timeline, in a group, on your other Facebook Page, or in a private message.
* Method 3
Click Invite Friends and suggest your Facebook Page to your Facebook friends.
You are ready!
Congratulations! You have completed all three prerequisites! Let’s go to Facebook and claim your $50 in free ads!
